We know of Grammy winner Lil Eddie from his writing for artists such as Janet Jackson, Kylie Minogue, Jason Derulo, and just about any other legend you can think of in the game. He’s been a vocal coach and Executive/Judge on X Factor: The Band, guest judge on X Factor Malta and even an Executive alongside Simon Cowell at Syco Music. This year alone, he co-wrote Coco Jones’s “Caliber” on Def Jam Records, “She Kissed Me First” for Sera on Universal Records, K Camp’s “To the Moon” on Interscope and Frenna’s “911”. What separates Eddie from the other top songwriters in the game for us is that he has hits on his own artist project.
Most recently collaborating with Legendary artist from the UK JLS lead singer Aston Merrygold and X factor winner Alexandra Burke.
10 years ago, Eddie dropped his album “City Of My Heart”, while he toured Japan alongside Ne-Yo. The album featured one of the biggest songs ever to hit the market, “Statue”. To date, “Statue” has 100+ million streams across platforms and is still going viral on TikTok till this day. It’s quite confounding to see an artist and songwriter have a career that transcends many generations, genres and cultures, and still manage to be viral on the new age platform of TikTok.
For us – the exciting thing about this particular album drop is that Eddie also has been creating, collaborating and releasing a ton of fresh music across his platforms. For example, his Reggaetón track “Figura” is featuring a top ten in the world artist from Nigeria: 1da Banton. His song “Gitana” with Claydee has hit a jaw dropping 50 million across streams across platforms.
With over a half a million monthly listeners on Spotify, and a majority of those fans coming from algorithmic, organic playlisting, Lil Eddie is one of the top Singer / Songwriters in the world right now. He is a living legend.
