Looking Back at the Hip-Hop Revolution Over the Years, Through the Lens of Arut Nazaryan

Music is an inseparable part of human life, and almost every breathing soul has experienced the power and witnessed the magic of music in their lives. And one music genre that has been touching lives and inspiring generations for many years is hip-hop.

Arut Nazaryan is a music artist whose inroads into the hip-hop and rap genre have created waves among fans and followers, as has his popular collaboration with fellow artist Axxi. Here, Arut Nazaryan shares his insights on the evolution of hip-hop as a genre over the decades.

“It all began half a century ago in the streets,” says Arut Nazaryan. “And today, hip-hop is one of the most popular genres in the world, with a fan following that goes beyond all human boundaries, including race, color, nationality, and creed.”

In the 70s, the cultural movement that would give rise to hip-hop as a mainstream genre began on American streets. Venting their ire and frustration against rapidly deteriorating living conditions, street artists from New York’s economically deprived sections began finding an outlet through music. Artists like DJ Kool Herc, Afrika Bambaataa, Grandmaster Flash, and pioneering recording labels like EMT (Early Music Technology) spearheaded this musical revolution, soon gaining a fan following that gave birth to more artists.

“The period from the mid-80s to the early 90s proved to be a great time for hip-hop. The genre spread throughout the United States during these years and began its rise in mainstream music,” reveals Arut Nazaryan. The rampant popularity of the genre also influenced a parallel fashion industry that birthed an entirely new line of fashion. Of course, the slang that defined the hip-hop generation found its share of fans too.

Today, the hip-hop industry is worth several billion dollars and has some of the world’s most influential celebrities and artists, including Arut Nazaryan himself, playing their part in experimenting and expanding on the genre. With hard-hitting lyrics and catchy tunes, hip-hop is a revolution that stayed on forever.

An entrepreneur of repute, Arut Nazaryan’s business pursuits are notable. In addition to co-founding MorningStar Solutions LLC, MorningStar Technologies DMCC, and Bistox Holding, Arut also plays the role of CEO at Bistox. And thanks to his creative pursuits on the side, Arut Nazaryan also enjoys a massive fan following on the musical front.
