The first night of the 2025 Creative Arts Emmy Awards came with some major surprises, history-making moments, and of course—plenty of music love.
Julie Andrews Makes a Triumphant Return
Legendary star Julie Andrews took home her first Primetime Emmy in two decades for her role as Lady Whistledown on Bridgerton. The 89-year-old icon, who turns 90 in just a few weeks, won Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance—reminding everyone that her voice is still as captivating as ever.
While Andrews nearly set a record, her longtime friend Carol Burnett still holds the crown as the oldest woman to win an Emmy, scoring one earlier this year at 90.
Andrews now has three Primetime Emmys, plus an Oscar and two Grammys under her belt. The only thing missing from her trophy shelf? A Tony. Despite three nominations, she’s never snagged one—keeping her just shy of the EGOT title.
