Bruno Mars Confirms New Album Is Finished, Ending Nearly a Decade-Long Wait

After almost ten years without a solo studio release, Bruno Mars has officially confirmed that his next album is complete.

The Grammy-winning superstar shared the news on Monday, January 5, with a brief but electrifying post on X (formerly Twitter), writing simply: “My album is done.” The announcement instantly sent fans into celebration mode, marking the end of one of the longest gaps in his career.

Mars, now 40, last released a solo album in 2016 with 24K Magic, a project widely hailed as one of the defining R&B records of its era. The album went on to dominate the 2018 Grammy Awards, winning all seven categories it was nominated for—including Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year—cementing Mars’ status as a generational talent.

In the years since, the Hawaii-born singer hasn’t been idle. He’s stayed visible through high-profile collaborations, including 2024’s “Die With A Smile” with Lady Gaga and “APT” with Rosé. Both tracks achieved major commercial success, with “Die With A Smile” reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2025.

Perhaps most notably, Mars teamed up with Anderson .Paak in 2021 to form Silk Sonic, releasing An Evening With Silk Sonic. The album’s lead single, “Leave The Door Open,” swept all four Grammy categories it was nominated for at the 64th Grammy Awards, further extending Mars’ award-winning run.

Fans wasted no time reacting to the album announcement online.
“Time to put the lack of musicality industry to shame,” one user wrote.
Another added, “I LOVE YOU SO MUCH. IT’S BEEN A LONG WAIT, BUT WE ARE READY.”
Others joked about old internet rumors, with one fan quipping, “LET’S CLEAR THAT DEBT BABY!!!” referencing the debunked gossip surrounding an alleged gambling loss.

While Bruno Mars has not yet announced a tour in support of the upcoming album, fans will still have a chance to see him live. The 16-time Grammy winner is scheduled to continue his residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM in Las Vegas throughout 2026.

With the album officially finished, anticipation is now at a fever pitch—and fans are eager to hear what Bruno Mars delivers after nearly a decade of buildup.
