Halle Berry isn’t shy about her music taste — and her latest pick might raise a few eyebrows, especially for Drake.
During an appearance on UPROXX’s That Tracks series alongside her Crime 101 co-stars Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo, the Oscar winner was asked whether it “tracks” to listen to Kendrick Lamar while stuck in traffic on Los Angeles’ 101 freeway.
Berry didn’t hesitate. “Absolutely, hell yes!” she said enthusiastically before revealing the exact song she’d have on repeat. With a grin, she referenced Kendrick’s Grammy-winning Drake diss, quoting the now-viral line from Not Like Us: “Say Drake!” That was all she needed to say.
She doubled down on her support for the Compton native, reminding her co-stars that Kendrick’s 2025 Super Bowl halftime performance remains the most-watched in history. Ruffalo quickly agreed, while Hemsworth admitted he’s also a Kendrick fan “on certain days.”
The admiration appears mutual. Kendrick famously name-dropped Berry in his 2012 classic Money Trees, further tying the actress to his legacy in hip hop culture.
However, Berry’s relationship with Drake has been more complicated. In 2023, the Toronto superstar used an image of her covered in green slime from the 2012 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards as artwork for his single “Slime You Out” featuring SZA — reportedly without her permission. Berry later expressed disappointment on Instagram, writing that she “thought better of him.”
While there may be lingering tension there, one thing is clear: when it comes to West Coast traffic jams, Halle Berry is riding with Kendrick.
