From small-town beginnings to international expansion, the founder of The Modern Marketer and Muniz & Partners is building a blueprint for next-gen leadership.
Growing up in a small Connecticut town, the idea of success felt distant — more like something that happened on TV than in real life. But for Irving Muniz, that gap between reality and ambition became the driving force behind his journey as an entrepreneur.
“I knew at a young age I needed to expand my environment to expand my mindset,” he says. That awareness — and hunger for more — led him to pursue bigger opportunities and ultimately, to create them for others.
The first step in that journey came to life when he and his family relocated to Virginia Beach. There, he launched The Modern Marketer, a digital marketing and app development firm that started as a high school passion project. “It was a brainchild I refused to let die,” he explains.
What began as a small idea is now a thriving operation serving high-end clients with cutting-edge digital solutions. Many of the original developers from that early phase are still part of the team today — a testament to the loyalty and long-term vision behind the brand.
The turning point? Strategic networking. A connection with One Tree Hill actor Michael Copon turned into a management relationship that opened doors across entertainment and fashion. “That led to platforms like New York Fashion Week,” he recalls, where proximity to high-level decision makers changed the game.
Soon after, he was building with artists like DRAM, A$AP Ferg, and Interscope-signed acts, thanks to a partnership with producer Razjah. That period marked a significant elevation — not just in reputation, but in reach.
It didn’t stop with creative strategy. Along the way, he identified a glaring gap in the industry: financial literacy.
“Many creatives and young professionals weren’t equipped to make smart, sustainable decisions,” he says. So, he stepped in — evolving his role from marketing consultant to financial advisor and account manager for high-net-worth individuals under 30.
The mission: help clients manage portfolios over $250,000 with clarity, trust, and long-term vision.
Like many young founders, early credibility was hard-won. “People didn’t take me seriously at first,” he admits. The only way forward was consistent execution. “I had to prove myself by solving real problems and letting my results speak.”
He did — and now he leads a firm that helps clients navigate high-stakes financial environments with confidence.
His days are intense — a blend of strategy, calls, and big decisions. Whether it’s structuring deals or helping clients build generational wealth, every hour is focused on protecting and growing assets while staying agile in a shifting economy.
“I don’t chase hype — I chase impact,” he says. That mindset fuels his ability to stay ahead of the curve, studying trends, testing fast, and surrounding himself with builders who think big.
Two figures stand out in shaping his thinking. One is Tony, whose emphasis on mindset and personal growth became a core value across both his family and business life. The other is Rick Shapiro, the family’s financial advisor, whose mentorship helped define his approach to wealth and strategy.
His message for entrepreneurs entering the 2025 landscape? “Know your market inside and out. Understand the heartbeat of the economy and the emotional pulse of your audience. Innovate fast. Move smart. Move first.”
The vision for the next year is global. Plans are already underway to open a new Las Vegas office, alongside a hub in Thailand for international development. With both infrastructure and momentum in place, the brand is scaling into a global ecosystem.
“This is only the beginning,” he says — and with a track record like his, it’s hard to argue otherwise.
