RCXY: Boston’s Rawest Voice on the Road with “Roach Clips”

In a city known for its storied history and passionate creatives, few artists are grinding harder and speaking more truthfully than RCXY — pronounced Rickey. A standout among Boston’s underground scene, RCXY is more than just an unsigned rapper with a mic — he’s a survivor, a storyteller, and one of the most relentless artists currently on tour.

Since late May, RCXY has been taking his message to stages across the country, fueled by the momentum of his latest project, “Roach Clips.” Hosted by the legendary DJ Lazy K and emerging tastemaker Proud Nobody, the project is an unfiltered glimpse into RCXY’s world — a raw, hypnotic blend of pain, poetry, and perseverance.

Songs like “Lonely,” “Wizard,” and “Seizure” hit with the kind of emotional weight and lyrical punch that only someone who’s lived can deliver. These aren’t just tracks — they’re chapters in a larger story of survival. The production is dark and psychedelic, while RCXY’s voice cuts through like a battle cry for the unheard.

That story has recently come into sharper focus through two deeply personal interviews. In “Cambridge Gucci Live – Ep. 13”, RCXY reflects on his journey from the streets to the stage, sharing how music became a form of therapy (watch here). And in “Raided, Homeless, Shootouts and Incarceration to Traveling the World,” he lays it all out — the pain, the loss, the chaos, and ultimately, the redemption (watch here). These aren’t just interviews — they’re confessions, and RCXY holds nothing back.

Now, as he continues his national tour, RCXY is proving that independence doesn’t mean limitation. It means freedom — to speak his truth, to connect with fans, and to carve his own path, on his own terms.

Catch RCXY live at these upcoming tour dates:

  • 7/20 – Good Times Event Center, St. Joseph, MO
  • 7/21 – The Ratskeller, Quincy, IL
  • 7/22 – Revel House Pub, Clarksville, TN
  • 7/23 – Wild Wing Cafe, Powell, TN

RCXY is more than a name — he’s a movement in motion. From Boston blocks to nationwide stages, his voice is a reminder that no matter how dark the past, the mic is his calling.
