Rising Artist Ej Blends Emotion, Hustle, and Heart in His Music Journey

From Tacoma, Washington, and now based in Dallas, rising artist Ej is making waves with a sound that blends raw emotion, danceable energy, and heartfelt storytelling. Inspired by legends like Sam Cooke, Jeremih, Wayne, Biggie, Eazy-E, and Trey Songz, Ej pulls from both old-school soul and modern hip-hop to create music that resonates with listeners on multiple levels.

Ej describes his creative process as deeply mood-driven. “I get in a vibe, listen to beats, and build a song off the emotions I’m feeling,” he explains. His goal is simple yet powerful: to make people feel good while also creating songs that are relatable across emotions—whether it’s love, pain, or pure party energy.

Currently, Ej is working on an EP with Solo Lucci, known for collaborations with Chris Brown, Trapboy Freddy, and Migos. Their track Hyphy combines West Coast flavor with Southern influences, showcasing Ej’s versatility.

Ej also recently dropped Want More with teen artist OC Chris, who just signed a record deal with the same label as NBA Youngboy. Reports suggest the deal was worth at least a million dollars, with other outlets claiming it’s in the multi-million range. The single, already gaining major traction, has racked up 95k views on YouTube and is continuing to climb. Watch it here.

Despite his young age, Ej’s vision is sharp. By the time he turns 17 next June, he hopes to have music placed in movies and commercials, with long-term goals of reaching international audiences—whether independently or through the right record deal.

For Ej, there’s no turning back: “I promised myself I’ma work hard and make it one way or another.”
