Emerging superstar KOTA! has announced details about her new single ‘Under My Spell,’ which will form part of her upcoming self-titled debut album. The news comes as the breakthrough artist has shared her aspirations for her place in the music industry.
Albuquerque-born grunge-rock, pop, and electronic artist KOTA! has announced her new single ‘Under My Spell,’ which she’ll drop in the coming months ahead of her debut LP launch. ‘Under My Spell’ is one of two singles announced as part of the album, with the other being ‘Eyes Wide Open.’
Her single announcement comes hot on the heels of the release of KOTA!’s previously shared singles. In May, KOTA! dropped her first release, ‘Dead Pretty’, sending her fiery fanbase into overdrive.
Following this, KOTA! shared her second single, ‘Killin’ It,’ showcasing how she has arrived at a distinctive – and somewhat eccentric – rock-pop style.
For ‘Under My Spell’ – as with other tracks on KOTA!’s upcoming album – the artist worked in the studio with acclaimed producer Gethin Pearson. Under Gethin’s guidance, KOTA! was able to perfect some of the musical ideas she’d been building up for years (as well as unlock the spontaneity and energy needed to deliver great grunge-rock songs from within the confines of the studio).
Speaking about the work that went into ‘Under My Spell’ and other songs recorded for the album, KOTA! said: “I tracked everything for this album with the incredible Gethin Pearson and I couldn’t be happier with our results. Gethin’s creativity brought each of the songs to life in a way I couldn’t have predicted, and it was so much fun to see his genius at work!”
With the success of ‘Under My Spell’ likely to be a given – and with critics already paying close attention to what KOTA!’s debut album might sound like – the artist is already looking ahead to 2025, where she’ll finally get the chance to play her own music and share of it with the wider world.
Speaking about her future aspirations, KOTA! said that she would “love to tour and play live,” noting that her live performances are often where she’s at the peak of her powers. She is also working towards having her music featured in sync placements, so that she can ultimately reach a much wider audience.
KOTA! has yet to mark the calendars with any official release dates for her upcoming singles (which is likely due to the fact that she’ll be putting the finishing touches on her music and ensuring that she has full creativity over her work). However, KOTA! is a noted force on social media, meaning listeners can receive updates on her TikTok and Instagram, as well as in the music press. KOTA! has developed an ever-growing fanbase by sharing updates about her music with her followers and inviting them into her creative process.
