Charles Barkley got hit with a dose of San Antonio-style payback during a playful segment on NBA on TNT, and it’s safe to say the results were not what he expected. In a cheeky twist called “Pop the Balloon,” Sir Charles became the centerpiece of a hilarious stunt that poked fun at his long-running jokes about San Antonio women.
Set up by co-host Kenny Smith, the bit began with a bold intro: “We have the person who loves San Antonio the most! Well, we’ll see…” As Barkley walked out, he was greeted by a row of women holding red balloons. But instead of applause, nearly every balloon was popped in unison — a not-so-subtle clapback to years of Barkley’s teasing remarks.
Only one balloon was left intact, a moment that visibly stunned Barkley and had the studio (and viewers) cracking up. It was a light-hearted roast, but it also showed how TNT isn’t afraid to turn the jokes back on their biggest personalities — even the Round Mound of Rebound himself.
