Born and raised in PG County, Maryland, Summer Solow has been a product of his environment and the people that surround him. As a self-proclaimed observer of life, Solow draws influence from everything around him – family, friends, even the pain and beauty that the world holds. His music is an unfiltered reflection of his journey, shaped by moments of vulnerability and strength.
Summer describes his sound as nostalgic, inspiring, and vulnerable – an emotionally-charged mix that feels like an introspective diary, set to a smooth, ambient rhythm. The process behind the music is just as heartfelt. It all begins with a beat, and from there, the magic flows. Solow connects deeply with his emotions, using music as a channel to express not only his personal struggles but also his solutions, offering listeners a unique look into his healing process.
“It’s about embracing your humanity,” says Summer, reflecting on the constant themes of vulnerability and self-love that echo through his tracks. “It’s okay to love, but it needs to benefit you. If it doesn’t, sometimes the best move is to isolate and focus on your own growth. You are the key to your own happiness.”
This ethos is evident in his latest project, i been going through some things, set to release in June 2025. The project is an intimate exploration of his thoughts and challenges throughout the year. Each track, marked with “the art of”, serves as a reflection on his personal lessons. Summer views his music as a tool for enlightenment, hoping that his journey can inspire others to reflect, heal, and grow.
Collaborations have also played a pivotal role in shaping his artistry. One such collaboration, Dead Image, with his girlfriend Nissi Nicole, brought together two souls working through difficult times, creating a beautiful testament to self-identity and growth. The result was nothing short of magical.
While staying motivated as an artist, Summer credits his deep faith in God and a strong sense of time management for keeping him grounded. His ability to balance music with personal relationships has been key in maintaining authenticity and drive.
“Reaching 10,000+ listeners and being featured in The Washington Post were major milestones,” he reflects. “But what really keeps me going is when people tell me that my music helped them through tough times. It’s humbling to know that my sound has this kind of impact.”
Looking ahead, Summer Solow is aiming for greatness with goals that include performing at iconic festivals like Coachella, working with legends like Andre 3000 and Kendrick Lamar, and building his own label to support the underground community. For him, the journey is just beginning.
“Life is difficult, but the beauty of it all will make things clearer,” he says, summarizing the message he hopes to leave with his listeners.
