Few diss tracks shook hip-hop the way 2Pac’s “Hit Em Up” did. Beyond targeting The Notorious B.I.G., Pac also lashed out at Mobb Deep. His most vicious line took aim at Prodigy, cruelly referencing his battle with sickle-cell disease.
At the time, the East Coast–West Coast rivalry was already at its peak, fueled by media, miscommunications, and territorial pride. But Pac’s attack went further than music—it was personal.
Prodigy would later live with sickle-cell complications until his passing in 2017. Looking back, the track remains both a powerful statement of Pac’s anger and a reminder of how personal battles escalated into public blood feuds.
