Atlanta-raised but Haitian at heart, Messon Jay-B is more than just a singer and songwriter—he’s a force working to shape both the creative and business sides of music. With a background in Business Law, Jay-B not only pursues his own artistry but also helps other artists navigate the often-tricky industry landscape. “Music is my passion,” he says, “but I also want to make sure other artists win too.”
Messon’s love for music began early. At 16, he started recording and released his first track, I’ll Be There, on his debut project Resurrection. The piano became his personal outlet, grounding him while fueling his creativity. Inspired by Kanye West, he has since developed his own Afro-fusion sound—a genre that blends rhythms, cultures, and languages into something dynamic and diverse.
Over the years, he’s collaborated with heavyweights like Scott Storch, Post Malone, and Tyla Yaweh, with more to come. His latest album, Soul Tie, is a deeply personal body of work that highlights his growth as an artist. And he’s not slowing down—later this year, Messon will release a new single with Scott Storch, a dream collaboration with one of his childhood heroes.
Despite past affiliations with labels, Jay-B proudly operates as an independent artist. For him, it’s all about building the right team and maintaining creative freedom. Still, he’s open to the right partnership if it aligns with his vision.
On stage, Messon has performed for crowds of up to 5,000, and he dreams of one day touring in Asia, sharing his sound with global audiences. In the future, he envisions traveling the world, spreading music that connects across cultures.
