Bow Wow Warns Rap Peers Over Unpaid Debts: “Don’t Let ‘Like Mike’ Fool You”

Bow Wow, the rapper and actor known for his early 2000s hits and iconic role in the film “Like Mike,” has issued a stark warning to his fellow rappers. On May 30, he took to X (formerly Twitter) to vent his frustration and threaten to expose those who owe him money.

In a fiery post, Bow Wow exclaimed, “yo! yall think 50 [Cent] gotta long list of rappers owing hiM MONEY??!!! IMA START NAMING RAPPERS THAT OWE ME AND BEEN RUNNING OFF WITH THE PAPE FOR 3 yrs! Dont let that like mike shit fool you! I WANT MY MONEY!!!! ima start naming u n-ggas.” His message quickly caught the attention of fans and industry insiders alike, sparking discussions across social media.

Despite his grievances, Bow Wow himself has faced accusations of financial misconduct. Last year, a 10-year-old girl’s family sued him for $15,000, claiming they paid for a feature that was never delivered. According to court documents, the girl sent $3,000 via Cash App, but Bow Wow denied any involvement, asserting, “I do NOT use or have cash app. So if you aint call management and send a wire .. you def was NOT dealing w me.”

This isn’t the first time Bow Wow has faced such accusations. He advised fans to be cautious about online transactions, emphasizing the prevalence of scams. “This happens everyday to folks. This the 3rd time somebody acting like me catfishing people,” he wrote.

In more positive news, Bow Wow recently celebrated a major milestone in his career. His debut album, “Beware of Dog,” released in 2000, surpassed four million sales in the U.S., making it eligible for 4x platinum certification. The album, which debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200, features hits like “Bounce With Me,” “Bow Wow (That’s My Name),” and “Puppy Love.”

As Bow Wow navigates the complexities of the music industry and continues to reflect on his storied career, his call for accountability among his peers highlights an ongoing issue within the rap community. Whether he follows through with naming those who owe him remains to be seen, but his message is clear: Bow Wow is demanding respect and payment for his contributions to the industry.
