Born and raised in Jersey, Cartier Caash is an artist who has been crafting her unique sound for over a decade. Her journey in music began long ago, and it’s clear she has no plans of stopping anytime soon. Her latest track, Buss It Down, is a true testament to her passion for blending various genres and creating something original that resonates with listeners.
“I’ve been making music for 10+ years, and it’s been a ride,” Cartier shares. “Life itself is my inspiration—everything I go through, everything I see, that’s what fuels me. I don’t stick to just one genre; I create it all, from hip-hop to R&B, and anything in between.”
It’s this versatility that sets Cartier apart in a world full of pigeonholed artists. From her first projects to her current work, Cartier has always put her heart into everything he does, and her work ethic is evident. “I write all my material, and I even create my own music video concepts,” she says. “It’s about making my vision come to life.”
While Cartier has yet to sign to a label, she’s open to the possibilities the industry has to offer. “Yes, I’d love to have a record deal, or even a distribution deal. I want to take my music to the next level,” she explains. In the meantime, she continues to do what she loves independently, building her fan base, with her biggest supporter being none other than her mom.
The drive doesn’t stop there. Cartier is currently working on a follow-up to her Carti and Friends series, with Part 2 on the way. Plus, she’s working on his album and has some TV shows in the pipeline. Her next release is slated for May, and fans are already eager to see what she has in store.
When asked where she sees herself in five years, Cartier doesn’t hesitate: “Global. I want to be everywhere, performing in front of crowds all over the world. Jamaica is a place I’d love to perform at.” She’s already had the chance to perform at big events, including Coulda Been Fest, and one artist she could definitely see herself touring with is Rod Wave, a powerhouse in his own right.
