From Vallejo, California, a new wave of Hip Hop energy is emerging through the voice of $camdad. The independent artist has been crafting music since 2020, but it wasn’t until 2023 that he began taking his craft seriously, setting the stage for a career rooted in passion, persistence, and authenticity.
His first project, 4 EVA SLIMEING & SCHEMEING, introduced listeners to his raw style and ambition, while his inspirations—most notably Baby Smoove—helped shape the melodic yet street-grounded sound he continues to refine. With features from talents like Lil Dump, ABO Vonn, Tr3yway 6k, and Ben Havn, $camdad has already begun building connections within the scene, showing he’s capable of standing alongside both underground and rising names.
Drawing from Hip Hop and rap, his music tells his story with grit and honesty. He writes all his own material, develops his own video concepts, and collaborates with a strong team of producers including Wooskii2k, prodbybot, zayfrmla, and prodbyexecute—collectively part of the Making History collective. His latest release, Swipe Tour, is available on all platforms, giving fans a taste of his evolving artistry while he prepares for his first full album and second EP.
When it comes to inspiration, $camdad dreams of working with the late Drakeo the Ruler and sees himself one day sharing a tour with Sietegang Yabbie. His biggest supporters remain his family and friends, who have stood behind him as he carves his path. Though his largest performance so far has been for a crowd of 15–20 people, his vision is much bigger—imagining stages as far as Brazil.
Looking ahead, $camdad sees himself five years from now “tucked off somewhere nice,” living in peace with his own setup, out of the way but in clear sight—still making music on his terms.
