Born and raised in the heat of Yuma, Arizona, Danny! is quickly making a name for himself in the hip-hop world. At just 21 years old, he’s already built a unique musical style that combines the raw emotion of his influences with his personal experiences. Danny! credits his eclectic taste in music to his upbringing, listening to everything from the smooth, powerful vocals of Mariah Carey to the timeless pop of Michael Jackson. These early influences laid the foundation for his broad musical palette, but it was the explosion of hip-hop around 2015 that truly shaped his sound.
“Being born in 2003, I was just in time to witness the new wave of hip-hop,” Danny! recalls. “Artists like Future, Lil Uzi Vert, Post Malone, and Juice WRLD had a huge impact on me. Their music was different, it was fresh, and it resonated with what I was feeling as a teenager.” This influence is apparent in Danny!’s own work, where the heavy basslines and melodic rap flows reminiscent of his idols blend seamlessly with his original, heartfelt lyrics.
But Danny! didn’t just stick to one coast for inspiration. “I also indulged in a lot of East Coast hip-hop,” he says. “Joey Bada$$, A$AP Mob, Pro Era, Flatbush Zombies… they brought a different vibe that I really connected with. There’s something about the East Coast energy that’s gritty, authentic, and real. It’s a vibe I try to bring into my own music.” By merging the melodic and rhythmic elements of modern hip-hop with the hard-hitting, thought-provoking style of East Coast rap, Danny! has crafted a sound that’s uniquely his own.
Danny! describes his musical style as “raw” and “emotionally clear.” He doesn’t shy away from pouring his heart into his lyrics, creating music that resonates with listeners on a deeper level. “I want my music to be a reflection of who I am,” Danny! explains. “Every beat, every lyric—it’s all me. I love composing melodic rap because it allows me to express my emotions in a way that feels real and authentic.”
