Ed Sheeran Plans U.S. Move Amid Career Shift

Ed Sheeran is making a big change—not just in music, but in life. Speaking on The 2 Johnnies podcast, the British singer revealed he’s relocating to the United States with his wife, Cherry Seaborn, and their two daughters.

“I’m just about to move to America,” Sheeran announced, before joking, “I feel like I might be the only person moving to America.” The decision, he explained, comes down to practicality. With a lengthy tour ahead, he wants to avoid shuttling back and forth while raising young kids. “We’re going and settling there.”

The 34-year-old has yet to confirm where the family will live, but Nashville remains a strong candidate. Sheeran has frequently expressed his admiration for the city, calling it his favorite in the U.S. and suggesting it could play a role in his future. “My end goal would be like, I’m gonna move to Nashville and transition to country,” he said in a previous interview.

For Sheeran, the idea of shifting into country music is both exciting and daunting. “I feel like I have to do it properly,” he admitted. “Once you transition to country, you can’t transition back. Once you’re there, you’re there.”

The move also reflects his growing ties to the U.S. Earlier this year, Sheeran bought a luxury apartment in Brooklyn for more than $10 million. Combined with his Suffolk estate in England, it underscores his global lifestyle.

As Sheeran enters this new chapter, fans are left curious: will America inspire his next big hit? With his talent for blending genres, his stateside move may signal the beginning of yet another reinvention.
