D.Hollow, born David King, is a New York-based artist who has come a long way from his childhood days in the church choir. His passion for music began at a young age, but it was the struggles he faced in his early life that truly shaped the artist he is today. “I’ve always loved music. It started in the choir at my grandmother’s church when I was seven years old. But when I turned twelve, I started writing poems to express the anger and pain I was dealing with,” D.Hollow explains. “It was around 2019 that I really started taking my music seriously, diving into the world of marketing, mixing, and mastering.”
His path hasn’t been without its hurdles. D.Hollow faced challenges such as being scammed early on and dealing with personal losses, including the fallout of a close friendship. Despite these struggles, his love for music and the support of his family and fans kept him pushing forward. “What God has planned for you, nobody can stop,” he says. “I have too many loved ones and fans who believe in me to give up now.”
D.Hollow’s career began to truly take off when his song “Method” made it onto SiriusXM’s Shady 45. He also credits his success to the DJ in Africa who has been playing his music for years, as well as platforms like iHeartRadio, Amazon Music, and Pandora. “It’s incredible to have your music reach places you never expected,” he says. “When you hear that people from across the world know your name, it makes everything worth it.”
His unique sound blends upbeat lofi beats with slow, smooth rhythms—perfect for those looking to vibe out and reflect. “My music resonates with people who’ve been through struggles. Life is tough, but that doesn’t mean you can’t dance through it,” he shares. With collaborators like Ric Flexer, Osso Smokey, and Trivell Caruth, D.Hollow’s music has evolved into something that speaks to the soul.
His motivation now extends beyond personal expression. “I’m motivated by my family, my fiancée Amanda, her kids, and my community,” D.Hollow says. “Their support keeps me going. I wouldn’t be where I am without them.”
The artist has big plans ahead, including a new single featuring Storm, titled “Frunt Page,” which promises to be yet another hit. “It’s all about pushing myself to new heights. I want my music to continue touching people’s lives, and the journey is just beginning.”
