Hot 97 recently made major lineup changes, including the departure of longtime DJ Enuff after nearly three decades at the station. The move sparked rumors, especially after Enuff suggested in a TMZ interview that Funkmaster Flex may have had a hand in the decision.
Flex quickly addressed the claims on air, making it clear he had nothing to do with it. “TMZ could never twist me up to flip on my guy—I love him to death,” Flex said. “I would never have anything to do with anyone being fired. You know why? I’m too hot.”
He went on to hint that the real culprits were close to Enuff during his farewell moments: “The people who snaked you were standing right there in that video, my brother.”
Despite the controversy, Flex praised Enuff’s legacy, crediting him as a pioneer in Spanish Hip Hop club culture and a trailblazer in New York nightlife.
Flex himself also made headlines after announcing his “last show” at Hot 97—only to reveal he was just moving to a new time slot, now holding down evenings from 5–7 PM.
