NBA YoungBoy Shoots His Shot at Doja Cat Again on New Album ‘Slime Cry’

NBA YoungBoy is once again making his admiration for Doja Cat known—this time through his music. On his newly released album Slime Cry, which dropped Friday, January 16, the Baton Rouge rapper delivers a flirtatious nod to the pop superstar on the track “Anti-Social.”

On the song’s fourth verse, YoungBoy runs through a list of things he wants to experience or possess in life, slipping Doja Cat into the mix with a standout line about paying for her to perform for him. While the bar leaves room for interpretation, it’s clear the reference is intentional—and very much in line with sentiments he’s shared before.

For longtime fans, the lyric isn’t exactly a surprise. Back in 2021, YoungBoy openly admitted his crush during an interview with DJ Akademiks, saying that if he weren’t already committed to his family at the time, he would’ve tried to pursue Doja Cat seriously. He also praised her individuality, calling her “unique in her own way.”

Despite the public admiration, Doja Cat has never responded to YoungBoy’s comments. The California-born artist has largely kept her personal life private, though she was most recently rumored to be dating actor Joseph Quinn, known for his breakout role in Stranger Things season four.

As for YoungBoy, his personal life has evolved since those early comments. He is married to Jazlyn Mychelle, with whom he shares two children, and he has several other kids as well. Still, his lyrical shout-out on Slime Cry suggests the admiration hasn’t completely faded.

Beyond the Doja Cat moment, YoungBoy continues to solidify his place in rap history. On January 16, the RIAA confirmed that he became the most decorated rapper of all time, earning 36 new certifications and bringing his total to 126. With momentum still on his side, that number is expected to keep climbing throughout 2026.
