Describing his style as “manic hip-hop laced with lullaby-like trance,” OniTheReaper lets each track reflect his shifting inner world. Whether diving into rap, rock, EDM, or experimental flows, he creates based on pure feeling. “Whatever my mood demands, that’s the direction I go,” he says.
His creative process is deeply personal and therapeutic. Living with Bipolar I, Oni leans into his emotional shifts to make music that’s real and raw. He begins with stream-of-consciousness writing, then builds a beat that mirrors his mindset. After humming melodies and layering lyrics, he engineers every track himself—carefully shaping sound until it hits exactly how he felt in the moment.
His latest single, “M4NI4,” was born from a six-hour manic episode—produced, written, mixed, and released in one sitting. The result is an unfiltered rush of energy, reflecting both urgency and clarity. “It’s not just something I do—it’s something I need,” Oni shares.
OniTheReaper’s music is rooted in real experience. From heartbreak and nightmares to spiritual awakenings and questions about life and death, his songs reflect a mind constantly in motion. In 2021, SoundCloud invited him to a creative networking event, igniting his competitive drive. By 2025, he was pulling tens of thousands of views within days and finally seeing the world respond to his sound.
Longtime collaborator Meth helped spark his journey in 2020. Their joint tracks like “Quantum Suicide” and “Reality Is Forbidden” explore existential themes with haunting beauty. It’s clear that for Oni, music is a form of truth-telling. “Authentic music will always outshine fake or cap rap,” he says. “People connect with truth—and I’ve made it my mission to keep giving them that.”
