Raymond Hunter, also known as Ray Bandz, is a passionate musician who grew up in Mississippi before moving to California and Texas. From an early age, he had a love for music, and he would often freestyle on the corner block of M.L.K BlV (Open-wood), where he was raised. Over time, he began promoting and consulting for local and upcoming artists on social media platforms, and he eventually got in touch with A&R’s and mixtape host legends like Dj ya boi Earl.
Ray Bandz’s ultimate goal was to write and executive produce music, and he studied the greats who came before him to gain a sense of direction on how to market his brand. However, he also adds his own creativity to the mix, doing things his way. Ray Bandz has a natural instinct for songwriting and a talent for balancing the business side of things. He always thinks of new ideas daily and believes that creativity has no days off.
Ray Bandz uses a method called “rhythm matching,” where he reaches out to artists who have a similar vibe or sound to the beat, and he matches the pieces together with the right producers. He believes he is an architect of music and has an ear for what can potentially make a great record. He grinds, stays motivated, and networks, building relationships and doing good business. He surrounds himself with individuals of great minds.
As a manager, Ray Bandz’s role is to manage the production of the project for advertising purposes, visual productions, and making the right business decisions as an overseer for the project and budgets. He may even play a role in being a writer at times, just being well-rounded.
Ray Bandz’s approach is to get global recognition, creating a universal vibe everyone can relate to. He believes that having a plan before the music is released, such as marketing campaigns, ensuring it gets the right press, and utilizing social media platforms such as TikTok, can enhance the opportunity of songs going viral.
