Born and raised in Washington State, theLite has already made a huge impact on the music scene in just under a year. His versatile, genre-defying sound takes listeners on a journey, with melodies and cadences that transcend traditional hip-hop boundaries.
Growing up, theLite was exposed to all genres of music by his father, which created a foundation for the artist’s eclectic taste and approach to his craft. “I was introduced to all music, which I believe gave me a vast range of genres that I could create in,” he shares, a sentiment that truly shapes his artistic vision.
One of the most intriguing aspects of theLite’s sound is its versatility. Whether it’s a laid-back track or a high-energy anthem, his music adapts seamlessly to a wide array of emotions and themes. His creative process starts with the beat—“It needs to draw a melody and inspiration,” he says. From there, he crafts catchy choruses and uses his experiences to write verses that feel personal yet universal. “Sometimes, I just freestyle a song and be done in a couple of hours,” he adds, showing how natural the creative flow is for him.
theLite’s latest single, “On 10” featuring Lewie, is a perfect example of his unique style. A track where he talks his talk and introduces himself to the industry, On 10 blends sharp lyricism with infectious energy. The song is a testament to his ability to balance self-expression with authenticity, all while staying true to his roots.
Mental health, drug abuse, and at-risk communities are frequent themes in theLite’s music. Through these subjects, he aims to inspire and connect with listeners who may be going through similar struggles. As he describes it, “I talk about my mistakes, family issues, mental illness, and drug abuse. There’s not one thing I probably haven’t touched on in my music.” This openness is what makes theLite stand out. He’s not just making music; he’s sharing pieces of his soul with the world.
theLite has already made significant strides in his career. In his first year as an artist, he had the honor of performing at Coast2Coast Live in Seattle, where he earned a spot in the Top 5 and a chance to compete for $50,000 in Miami. He’s also had the opportunity to perform for A&Rs from Empire Records and Sony Music. For an artist just getting started, the progress is nothing short of impressive.
Balancing his personal life with the demands of a growing music career is challenging, but theLite is navigating it with resilience. With new projects in the works and plenty of doors opening, he is committed to staying grounded and focused on his long-term goal of making music his full-time career. “My long-term goal is to have music replace my job,” he says.
As he continues to grow and evolve, one thing is certain: theLite will keep pushing boundaries, staying true to himself, and connecting with his audience through his raw, real, and always relatable music.
