In the world of hip hop, the road to success is rarely smooth, but for Atlanta’s own Baxkends, it’s a journey driven by pain, passion, and the pursuit of greatness. Born Chase, Baxkends found his true calling in music after a devastating loss—his brother’s passing. That tragedy became the catalyst for his career, motivating him to express his emotions through the power of sound.
“My brother passing is what really pushed me to pursue music,” Baxkends shares. “It was like I needed to find a way to cope, a way to keep his memory alive. Music became that outlet.”
Despite the emotional weight that led him into the industry, Baxkends brings a unique, “different” style to the table—one that blends vibey beats with raw, authentic energy. His sound resonates with fans on a personal level, offering something “relatable and lit.” Whether he’s reflecting on life’s struggles or celebrating the highs, his music is an escape and a connection for listeners who feel the same.
Though Baxkends is an independent artist, his journey hasn’t been without support. His manager plays a crucial role in collaborating with other musicians and producers, helping to shape the direction of his career. However, when it comes to his artistry, Baxkends prefers to keep it solo, carving his own path while balancing family and career. “My kids and the end goal are what keep me pushing,” he says, emphasizing that every step is for their future.
As an artist, Baxkends is proud of the recognition he’s already received, including performances and shout-outs from major artists. Though he hasn’t yet reached the pinnacle of his career, he’s focused on numbers and building a fan base. “I’m still working on it, but it’s all about the grind,” he adds.
His relationship with his fans is rooted in genuine interaction, especially on social media, where he stays connected and engaged with his growing audience. “I mostly just interact through social media,” Baxkends reveals. “It’s a powerful tool for keeping that connection alive.”
Looking ahead, Baxkends is preparing to drop a new project, and his fans can expect more heat. “The next single I want to release is a tape,” he says. As for now, his music is available on all platforms under the name “Baxkends.”
