Drake just gave Houston fans an unexpected moment, joining Karol G onstage for the first live performance of their collaboration, “Ahí.”
During Karol G’s Houston tour stop this weekend, the Toronto superstar made a surprise appearance that immediately sent the crowd into a frenzy. Drake emerged from beneath the stage before greeting Karol G with a bow and an embrace, setting the stage for their first-ever performance of the track.
The song appears on Karol G’s latest album, No Me Arrepiento de Sentir Tanto, which arrived in August. “Ahí” marked the first official collaboration between the two global stars, with Drake showing off his Spanish-language vocals alongside the Colombian superstar.
After running through “Ahí” together, Drake kept the Houston crowd energized with performances of “Janice STFU” and “One Dance.” His surprise appearance added another memorable moment to a growing connection between the rapper and Karol G.
Their collaboration has been building for months. Drake was spotted supporting Karol G during her Toronto concert in July, shortly before “Ahí” officially arrived. The collaboration had also been rumored to potentially appear on Drake’s ICEMAN rollout before ultimately landing on Karol G’s album.
For Drake, the Houston performance comes during an especially active stretch. The rapper recently released FOMO, a visual project featuring music from Habibti and Maid Of Honour, along with several previously unreleased tracks and new collaborations.
Meanwhile, Karol G continues to expand her global reach, and bringing Drake out for “Ahí” gives the collaboration its first major live moment. Considering the reception inside the Houston venue, fans clearly weren’t expecting The Boy to pull up—but they were more than ready when he did.
