During a recent livestream, Akademiks suggested that Kendrick could release a new project toward the end of 2026 or early 2027. However, he made it clear that his prediction isn’t based on information from an insider or someone within Kendrick’s camp. Instead, Akademiks said the timeline is simply his personal hunch.
Kendrick’s last studio album, GNX, arrived as a surprise in November 2024. The project followed a massive year for the rapper, particularly after his highly publicized feud with Drake. Since then, fans have remained curious about what direction Kendrick will take next.
That curiosity has only grown because of Drake’s recent output. Drake has taken several shots at Kendrick on his own releases, including material connected to ICEMAN and FOMO, leading some listeners to wonder whether Kendrick could eventually respond through music. Others are simply interested in hearing what the Pulitzer Prize-winning rapper has planned creatively following GNX.
Could Kendrick Drop Again Soon?
Kendrick has developed a reputation for keeping his album rollouts unpredictable. His GNX release was a perfect example. Instead of a traditional weeks-long campaign, Kendrick uploaded a brief teaser to YouTube before dropping the album shortly afterward, catching much of the music world off guard.
