Toronto rapper AFTERPARDI’s latest single Dubai isn’t just another flex track — it’s a celebration of elevation, both in life and artistry.
“Dubai is about getting away from everything, moving forward, and enjoying the luxuries,” Pardi explains. “It’s about being your own boss and making it to the top in your own way.”
The track’s creation was as organic as it gets. Pardi started by freestyling over a beat produced by FelixGotFire, Harmonics Hits, and DENZELXI, locking into the rhythm and letting instinct lead. From there, he wrote the rest, finishing the recording in one session before sending it off to be mixed. The result is a track that feels effortless yet intentional — polished but still carrying his raw energy.
Lyrically, Dubai pulls from real life. It weaves together themes of paranoia, loss, and hard-earned success, creating a balance between grit and celebration. “It’s not just about flexing,” Pardi says. “It’s about staying true to yourself while everything around you is changing.”
The music video, shot in the actual city of Dubai, matches the song’s grandeur. Though filming there wasn’t originally part of the plan, Pardi’s videographer convinced him — a decision he calls “one of the best of my life.” The visuals showcase the city’s jaw-dropping luxury, giving fans a cinematic look into the lifestyle the song describes.
As the first single off his upcoming EP, Dubai marks a shift in Pardi’s sound. “It’s a different vibe,” he says. “The kind that creeps up on you.”
