From humble begginings of Washington State to the digital waves of social media, AroundTheWay Té, born Davonté McCullough, is quickly proving that authenticity and storytelling still reign supreme in hip-hop.
Since releasing his debut track Cookies in April 2025, Té has already racked up over 164,000 views across all platforms, collaborating with notable names like Lewie (Tacoma) and Ethan Tucker (Olympia, The Voice 2016). His music is deeply rooted in personal experience, shaped by a youth surrounded by gang culture, domestic struggles, and the harsh realities of addiction.
“I don’t sound like nobody, but don’t nobody sound like me,” Té says, describing his unique blend of old-school influence and personal narrative. His sound pays homage to the 80s babies who raised him, weaving vivid stories that resonate far beyond his home turf.
Running his own label, Sell Or Be Poor Records LLC, alongside Caleb Tucker, Té is fully independent, handling business, music, and life while balancing fatherhood. “My kids think I’m the coolest dad because I’m making videos,” he says, a motivation that drives him to keep creating.
His next release, Oldschool featuring V Funk, promises to be a West Coast classic, merging high-energy delivery with cinematic visuals. And if the past few months are any indication, AroundTheWay Té’s grind is just getting started.
