Lil Wayne fans in Charleston, West Virginia, were left waiting after the rapper’s scheduled concert on October 16 was postponed only a few hours before the show was due to begin. The performance was part of his “20 Years Of Carter Classics” tour, featuring fellow rapper 2 Chainz as a special guest.
The Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center announced the postponement, citing inclement weather and travel delays. According to the venue, the decision affected the event scheduled for Friday night, with the announcement reportedly arriving around 5:30 p.m. — approximately three hours before the planned performance.
The venue confirmed that previously purchased tickets would remain valid for the rescheduled date. However, no replacement date had been announced at the time of the announcement, leaving ticket holders waiting for further instructions.
Another Setback for Lil Wayne’s Tour
The postponement adds to a series of concert disruptions involving Lil Wayne this year. In an earlier incident in Maine, fans reportedly waited for an extended period after 2 Chainz completed his opening performance before learning that Wayne would not take the stage. The rapper later returned to the area for a makeup show.
Although the Charleston venue attributed Friday’s postponement to weather and travel issues, further details about the specific circumstances were not immediately provided. The announcement also did not establish whether other tour dates would be affected.
What’s Next for the “20 Years Of Carter Classics” Tour?
Lil Wayne’s next scheduled performance was set for October 17 at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas. The remaining tour schedule includes additional stops later in October, although the Charleston situation raised questions among fans about whether any further changes might occur.
For concertgoers who purchased tickets to the Charleston show, the immediate priority is the venue’s announcement of a new date. Until that information becomes available, ticket holders are advised to keep their tickets and monitor official updates from the venue.
