Man Who Murdered Trouble Sentenced After Guilty Plea in 2022 Case

Jamichael Jones, the man responsible for the death of Atlanta-based rapper Mariel Semonte Orr, widely known by his stage name Trouble, has been sentenced to prison. Trouble, celebrated for his independent mixtape releases and high-profile collaborations with artists like Migos and Drake, was fatally shot in 2022. Jones admitted his guilt in a Rockdale County courtroom on March 21, 2025, nearly three years after surrendering to authorities, as reported by Atlanta News First.

The plea came on the day jury selection was scheduled to begin. As part of the agreement, several charges against Jones were dismissed by prosecutors, including aggravated assault, criminal damage to property, malice murder, possession of a firearm during a felony, and family violence battery. In exchange for his guilty plea to the murder charge, Jones was handed a 20-year prison sentence.

The incident took place in the early hours of June 5, 2022, outside an apartment complex in Conyers, Georgia. Local police discovered Trouble suffering from a gunshot wound at approximately 3:20 AM. The rapper’s death marked a significant loss to Atlanta’s music scene, where he had built a reputation as a versatile and influential artist.
