Onplanetzu, born Dewayne Phelps, hails from the vibrant city of Los Angeles, California. Growing up in a dysfunctional household, he found music as his escape and form of self-expression. As a runaway kid, his journey into the music industry wasn’t just about creating beats and lyrics, but a testament to overcoming challenges. From those humble beginnings, Onplanetzu carved his own lane, creating a sound that mixes the styles of legends like Tech N9ne, Busta Rhymes, and Ol’ Dirty Bastard. His music is bold, energetic, and unapologetic, resonating deeply with fans aged 16 to 40, thanks to its raw energy and wild subject matters.
One of the highlights of his career was collaborating with legendary acts like Wu-Tang Clan, Black Eyed Peas, Redman, and Keith Murray. He fondly recalls Wu-Tang telling him to keep pushing his unique style, assuring him that success comes from staying true to his own sound.
