Meet Shown Remorse, the genre-blending artist who’s carving out a sound that’s as introspective as it is innovative. Hailing from Georgia, Nathan Ball (known to the world by his stage name, Shown Remorse) grew up surrounded by music—his father, a member of a Christian quartet called The Ball Brothers, ignited his passion for harmonies and melodies from a young age. It’s clear that the foundation for his musical journey was set early on, but it’s his fearless blend of styles and deeply personal approach to songwriting that truly sets him apart.
“My style is progressive music. It’s reflective of my personal growth,” Nathan shares. His sound isn’t bound to any one genre—it’s a fusion of everything he’s loved, experienced, and heard throughout his life. From soft, soulful beats to the harsh, edgy chords that punctuate his tracks, Shown Remorse’s music offers a raw, unfiltered window into his world.
One of the standout elements of his artistry is the authenticity of his lyrics. “Everything I write comes from real life,” Nathan says. His music is a reflection of his journey, and it’s clear his fans feel the same. “I like to believe my audience resonates with the soft sounding beats yet harsh chords,” he explains, noting how the emotional complexity of his music mirrors his own internal struggles and growth.
Despite being an independent artist, Nathan has always sought to improve his craft. He’s dedicated to learning the art of mixing and production, handling all aspects of his music by himself. “I try to make my music by myself,” he says, “I work on it every day, getting better and better.” This self-sufficiency, however, doesn’t mean he’s above collaboration. “I’ve had advice given to me by other artists and instrumentalists, but everything in my music is shaped by me.”
A personal highlight for Shown Remorse so far has been reaching over 1,000 streams in a month—a milestone he’s incredibly proud of. But for Nathan, this is just the beginning. “My next goal is to get on stage and perform,” he shares with excitement, underscoring his drive for growth and expansion in his career.
Like many artists, Nathan faces challenges, especially balancing his day job with his passion for music. “My biggest challenge has been working a hard job, then coming home and getting straight to work on my music,” he admits. But that perseverance is part of his journey, and it’s what fuels his commitment to bettering his craft every day.
Looking ahead, Shown Remorse has plans to release his next single, “Fawning,” a track that promises to further showcase his evolving sound. His fans can expect more of the introspective, progressive energy that has come to define his style.
