Wiz Khalifa Reportedly Added to Romania’s Wanted List Over Cannabis Case

Wiz Khalifa has reportedly been added to Romania’s wanted persons database after failing to serve a prison sentence tied to a 2024 marijuana possession case.

Wiz Khalifa is reportedly facing growing legal trouble overseas after Romanian authorities allegedly added him to the country’s public wanted persons database.

The situation traces back to July 2024, when the Taylor Gang rapper performed at the Beach, Please! Festival in Costinești, Romania. Authorities claimed Wiz smoked a cannabis joint during his set and was later found with 18.53 grams of marijuana, leading to personal possession charges.

What initially seemed like a minor legal issue escalated quickly. In December 2025, prosecutors from Romania’s DIICOT appealed a lower court ruling that only issued an $830 fine. The Constanța Court of Appeal later upgraded the punishment to a nine-month prison sentence.

Wiz reportedly attempted to overturn or suspend the sentence in February 2026, but the appeal was denied, making the jail term official.

Now, reports claim Romanian officials entered the rapper into their wanted persons database after he failed to surrender and begin serving the sentence. Authorities could reportedly pursue additional enforcement measures if Wiz travels within parts of the European Union.

The case has sparked major discussion throughout hip-hop news circles because Romania continues to enforce some of Europe’s stricter cannabis laws, even for personal use cases. Meanwhile, marijuana laws remain far more relaxed in many parts of the United States, where cannabis culture has long been tied to rap music and entertainment.

As of now, Wiz Khalifa has not publicly addressed the newest developments.
