second category. Coming out of Carbondale, Illinois, the artist,
producer, and entrepreneur behind Flytech Productions and Beats By Yo
Boi Inc. isn’t chasing trends—he’s crafting cinematic experiences
fueled by pain, survival, and transformation.
Influenced by rap royalty like Jay-Z, Tupac, Biggie, Nas, Bone
Thugs-N-Harmony, and Drake, Yo Boi developed a sound that refuses to
stay boxed in. He calls himself a “sonic chameleon,” and the title
fits. One moment his music crashes through speakers with hard-hitting
808s and raw trap energy; the next, it drifts into emotionally layered
melodies and late-night R&B textures. But beneath the versatility sits
one constant: honesty.
Yo Boi’s music is built from real battles. Anxiety, betrayal, trauma,
isolation, addiction, and spiritual warfare aren’t subjects he tiptoes
around—they’re central to his art. Records like Agony, All In My Head,
and Fractured Identity serve as confessions more than performances,
giving listeners an unfiltered look at the psychological weight that
comes with simply surviving. Instead of hiding scars, he turns them
into soundtracks.
That authenticity has carried him from independent creator to
full-scale music entrepreneur. National publications, growing
international radio play, and expanding artist development services
all helped elevate his movement. Now the spotlight is turning toward
his ambitious double-disc project Cracked Mirrors / Master Class,
produced entirely by Anno Domini Beats under Bentley Records. The
project represents two worlds colliding: one side reflecting
brokenness and painful memories, the other stepping into discipline,
growth, and self-mastery.
Yo Boi isn’t selling an illusion of perfection. His mission is bigger
than that. He wants people to hear his music and understand that
authenticity still matters, resilience still wins, and no matter how
