Rick Ross Says Nobody Fears Drake’s “ICEMAN” Release Despite Their Ongoing Tension

Rick Ross is making it clear that while he still respects Drake, he isn’t losing sleep over the upcoming release of ICEMAN.

The latest Verzuz-style battle featuring Ross and French Montana quickly became a major topic online as both artists revisited some of their biggest records. However, fans immediately noticed one particular detail during Ross’ set: he played several of his collaborations with Drake while intentionally skipping over Drake’s verses.

That moment reignited speculation about the tension between the two rap stars, who have experienced a rocky relationship over the past year. While many fans still remain unclear about what exactly caused the fallout, Ross recently offered a brief explanation during an interview.

“We made history with a lot of records,” Ross said before suggesting that Drake had simply “lost focus” for a period of time. He then added that he believes Drake is now focused again ahead of the ICEMAN rollout.

Despite the friction, Ross insisted that there is no deep hatred between them. According to Rozay, disagreements between artists don’t always have to turn into permanent rivalries.

“When somebody step out of line and you gotta chastise ’em or give ’em a spanking, that’s what you do,” Ross explained. “But is it one of those things where there’s a conspiracy? Hell no.”

Ross also addressed growing online narratives suggesting that artists may be worried about competing with Drake’s highly anticipated album release. He completely dismissed the idea, confidently stating that nobody fears a Drake album drop.

The comments arrive as anticipation for ICEMAN continues reaching new levels online. Drake has fully embraced an elaborate rollout campaign for the project, including promotional stunts involving giant ice blocks displaying the album’s release date.

At the same time, fans remain fascinated by the complicated relationship between Ross and Drake, especially considering the long list of classic records they created together over the years. Songs from their collaborations remain fan favorites and helped define an era of mainstream rap dominance.

With ICEMAN officially arriving on May 15, listeners are now waiting to see whether Drake addresses any lingering tensions on the album itself — and whether Ross will have anything further to say once the project finally drops.
