Tone 066, also known as BSF Tone, hails from the gritty streets of North Philly, a place where survival often meant more than just hustling. As a member of the Black Soprano Family (BSF), the collective led by Benny The Butcher, Tone’s journey is one of raw authenticity, ambition, and an undeniable talent for rap. His music is shaped by his environment and the influences of local legends from his hood, who he credits as being better than most in the industry. “All the rappers I looked up to were from my block. They set the bar high, and that’s what I’ve been chasing ever since,” he says.
Tone’s sound is a reflection of his life: aggressive and energetic, but always finessed. Whether it’s spitting bars about the streets or flexing his versatility over a smooth beat, Tone adapts and conquers. His creative process is rooted in the beat—he lets it lead him to the vibe, which shapes everything from cadence to delivery. “The beat is everything. I let it guide me,” he says, describing the fluidity of how his music comes together.
His latest project, Bloxx & Robbers, is a raw portrayal of his life, focusing on his maturation and the first quarter of his existence. It’s a deeply personal project that pulls no punches, and it’s clear that Tone has a lot to say. “I’ve been through it all—from robbing banks to doing time in the Feds—and my story is real. I’m just giving it to y’all straight,” Tone explains.
Tone doesn’t glorify his past. Instead, he uses it as a warning, a message of resilience, and a testament to his evolution. “I was robbing banks at 17, and now I’m in the studio with Benny. My story is unique because it’s true. I’m just here to show you I can rap, and rap well.” Signing with BSF was a pivotal moment in his career, as it gave him the platform to share his story authentically while aligning with a label that embraces real street experiences.
For Tone, family is everything. His career and personal life are intertwined, with the support of his wife and loved ones fueling his drive. “My wife knows how I’m coming, and she wants me to win. This music thing is personal for all of us.”
Tone’s long-term goal? To become a mogul. “I want to put my people in position to succeed and create opportunities for others. It’s all about community.”
